The Middle School section stands out for its focus on the internationalisation of our students. It comprises fifth to ninth grade, with a rich diversity of ages and backgrounds. Although the majority of our students and teachers are from Cartagena, we also have people from other cities and countries. In the section, we have seven foreign teachers from places such as Russia, the Philippines, the United States and France. This multicultural environment allows students to take a genuine interest in the world and to relate better to our curriculum.
We have a responsibility to address the different subjects so that the transition to the International Baccalaureate is successful. That is why we identify ourselves as IB-oriented.
Our pedagogical model is based on enquiry, which is necessary to understand the problems of our local and global society.

Pablo Russi is a historian with postgraduate studies in political science and education. He is also an IB history and geography teacher. He has been teaching for 24 years in two main areas: teaching English at university level and coordinating humanities and social studies departments in high level schools. He is currently head of the Middle School section.
