Wellness Week 2026: At the CBC, we’re kicking off a week dedicated to wellness

The British School of Cartagena kicked off Wellness Week 2026, a week dedicated to promoting the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our students. Inspired by Cognita’s Global Be Well Day and under the slogan In Motion, We Thrive: We’ll spend five days learning how to take care of ourselves, connect, and grow together.

Well-being is a fundamental part of our students’ well-rounded education. That is why, in the at the British School of Cartagena, we are kicking off a new edition of our Wellness Week 2026, a week designed to recognize the importance of taking care of ourselves, strengthening our relationships, and developing habits that contribute to a healthy lifestyle.

From September 21 to 25, our educational community will take part in an experience that invites us to understand well-being from different perspectives: rest, nutrition, connection with others, solidarity, and physical activity.

This initiative stems from Global Be Well Day, the annual wellness celebration of Cognita Schools, the global educational community of which we are a part. At CBC, we take this celebration a step further and turn it into a full week of meaningful experiences.

Global Be Well Day: A wellness initiative that connects us with Cognita

Being part of Cognita Schools means being part of an international educational community that shares a vision of the importance of well-being in education.

Every year, through Global Be Well Day, this community sets aside a special time to promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of its students, teachers, and families, recognizing that learning and growing also involve feeling good, building positive relationships, and having the tools to face everyday challenges.

At the British School of Cartagena, this initiative takes on a special significance.

Instead of cramming the experience into a single day, we hold our Wellness Week, allowing our students to explore different aspects of well-being and understand how to incorporate them into their daily lives.

This year, Cognita’s official theme is “Physical Activity,” accompanied by the slogan “In Motion, We Thrive”—a message that reminds us that staying active, exploring our surroundings, and sharing experiences with others also contribute to our development.

This week, each learning experience will have its own dedicated space, allowing our students to understand that well-being is a concept that encompasses the body, the mind, and our relationships.

Wellness Week 2026: Five Days to Cultivate Well-Being

During our Wellness Week 2026, students will explore different aspects of well-being through experiences that encourage them to recognize the importance of taking care of themselves, connecting with others, and developing healthy habits. Throughout the week, we will explore topics such as rest and the importance of sleep for our physical and emotional well-being; mindful eating as a fundamental part of a healthy lifestyle; and connecting with others, while strengthening skills such as empathy, communication, and building positive relationships.

We will also take some time to recognize how helping, sharing, and contributing to the well-being of others can have a positive impact on our own lives, fostering a sense of community and solidarity.

Finally, exercise and movement will allow us to connect with the central theme of Global Be Well Day 2026, helping us understand that staying active not only benefits our physical health but also contributes to our emotional and social well-being. Each of these learning experiences will be connected by a common purpose: to provide our students with the tools to recognize their needs, make informed decisions, and understand that well-being is built through small, everyday habits.

In Motion, We Thrive: Well-being Is Also Built Through Movement

This year’s theme invites us to recognize that movement goes beyond physical activity.

Being active also means exploring new environments, sharing experiences, strengthening bonds, and discovering abilities that we often fail to recognize when we stay solely in the classroom.

This vision is directly linked to our school activities—experiences in which students have the opportunity to connect with their surroundings, interact with their classmates, and strengthen various skills through situations that engage both the body and the mind.

In these spaces, learning takes place in a different way. Students participate, face new challenges, and discover that well-being can also be fostered through shared experiences.

“In Motion, We Thrive” embodies precisely that connection between movement, well-being, and growth.

With the start of Wellness Week 2026, we reaffirm our commitment to continuing to build an educational community in which well-being is an integral part of our students’ learning experience and overall development.

This week, we’ll get moving, connect, learn, and reflect on how to take better care of ourselves, both individually and collectively.

Because well-being is also built together.

Healthy Minds, Happier Futures. In Motion, We Thrive.
